Trend reporting

Has anybody out there set up a report to show a trend? Would it be possible to show a link's utilization and include a trend line on the report with the object being to produce a graph that shows utilization over a period with it's associated trend?

I'm sure you could do this with some custom SQL queries, or using Crystal Reports.
I find looking at the "daily bytes transferred" graph over the past year gives a much better graph of the utilization trends on an interface.
