how to trigger alert for CPU utilization

Question

Hi,  i have a condition of monitoring CPU utilization above 80% and wanted to trigger alert based on this condition - within 1hr,  total 30mins of CPU utilization above 80% (this need not be necessary CPU utilization above 80% continuously within 30 mins).

You can configure alerts for CPU utilization in the Advanced Alert Manager which is a console tool.  If you haven't used it before I would recommend taking a look at some of the alerts that are already in there as well as reviewing the section of the Administrators Guide for Advanced Alerts as well as the White Paper on Advanced Alerts.  Both of these documents can be located at the links provided below...
