Looking to move DB from VM to physical box

I currently have a Solarwinds Orion instance running as a VM on an ESXi cluster. Management wants to have Solarwinds run off a physical box so that it can monitor the VM infrastructure in case the VM infrastruture goes down. Would standing up a new server and migrating the DB by the best path?
