Hi
I looking for info about NCM capacity if I will run "cron every 5 minutes" on large no. of nodes ..
Any one has real life experience/best practice with that?
That about what I can find about "jobs capacity" that I can find
I would suggest the best thing is to run your job once and see how long it takes your polling engine to complete by looking at the Job Logs afterwards. Then once you know how long your jobs take to run you can schedule them accordingly. Whilst NCM can run multiple jobs, like anything it has a lot of other tasks to run and they can stack up / cause delay to each other.
Thanks David
I just hope that SW has some real capacity data when they start use "cli polling" on NPM with 12.3.
Doing this type of action may have a negative effect on your SolarWinds performance and operations. David Smith is correct in that you need to find out how long the job will take on average per node. If you decide to move forward, incrementally increase until you see where performance will be impacted. Small steps.
