Netflow Service Stopped monitoring

About once a month any of my Four(4) NTA servers will periodically stop collecting netflow due to the service is in a stopped state when viewing the Orion Service Manager on the server. What I need is a service monitoring tool to check all the Orion services, and start/restart if these stop. Since they run as a MS servce, need something that monitors MS apps/services, and alert when this occurs. Solarwinds needs to provide something,, at least to monitor/alert on the SW services if they go down... I can at least manually start them back up.

Hi,

sorry to hear that. NTA service is set up to start automatically after it stops unexpectedly. If there was reason why we stop service in regular way, you can see this information in event log (try to check it).

The Orion Application Performance Monitor (APM) module does offer this exact capability. However, I agree that some basic level of self-service monitoring for the Orion core services would be nice.

Have you posted this to the NPM forum so that the product manager knows about it? If not, could you and they can add it to the feature enhancement list.

Checking the server Event Viewer, found a Critical Error in NetFlow Listener:

Then service stopped, and no data for a couple days until troubleshooting no Netflow data for nodes:

I restarted.

juan, please open a support ticket on this issue and we'll investigate further. BTW, are you on 3.6?

Not 3.6 on this particular server. Will be upgrading this week along with NPM 9.5.1. thx.
