Create a Custom View

I created one custom property which includes all the network devices .

No i want this custom property to add as a limitation to one of the user account so that he can see only those which is there in the custom property .

by designing a customized view

How can i achieve that??

you need to set Account Limitations for that user :-

Go to Settings> User Accounts> Manage Accounts > select the user to whom you want to set the limitation >

> Then click on edit there you will get Account Limitations > Click on that.

> In next screen Select Limitation Type For Account, here you can see the custom property you created select that and click on continue

This will solve your purpose

Creating View

Go to Manage Views -> Add a new view -> Give whatever name you want -> Select All node - Tree resource

If you want to add more resources like event summary and etc add those also.

Go to View Limitation -> Edit

If you created group with the custom property select Single Group

If you are going to do with some other way like Limitation based on City or OS or Manufacturer, select the required field and click continue.

Here I am selecting group for example.

Then Select the group you created, here I am selecting AD.

Then Submit. Now Click only the servers under group will come in the Dashboard.

Click Done and save your view.

Now go to My Dashboard -> Configure -> New Menu bar

give a name to your menu bar and click Add

Now give Name, URL of the view you created. ( to copy url preview your view copy the url on the address bar, paste the same here)

Now drag and drop the menu and click submit. Menu will appear in the main screen.

Giving Access to Accounts

Now go to Manage Accounts -> Add new account -> Select the type of account

Here I am selecting Orion account. (Before give access to the user, create a test orion account and test the view. Then give access to the user)

Give Username and password for the account.

Select none for all the below

Now, in Home page view and default summary select the menu you have created.

That's all.

Submit.

You can also go by customized view Type:-

lets say if you have added below resource for displaying all node and same view you is set for users

Now the question is how you can limit based on custom property

for that Click on Edit as highlighted above and use the sql filter based on your custom property

i have created a custom property name attached in the file.

When i go to users and add limitation to the user i don't find the option to insert custom property, Attached the snapshot.

mohitonline where is the edit option which you are referring to ?

Custom Property will not available in Limitation.

You have to create group using the custom property or you have to choose some other limitation like Vendor or Manufacturer or something else that in the same manner for all the nodes.

It was available in older version

I think it is obsolete in version 12. that's why you are not able to see

can use the category as limitation.

If don't have custom property as the view limitation

ie Adding the PONumber custom property as limitation.

on orion server

Now you should see the limitation as option to select.

I just tested the same in version 12 also as skyblademonkey suggested.

Please do the same this will populate your costume property (NetworkInvenoryClasss) in limitation area.
