Importing Custom Properties

Hi,

We are going to add alerting based on custom properties for nodes. We have added 10 custom property fields and we currently manage 700 devices. We have exported the fields and filled in all the data manually for the devices.

1. Do I need to stop all the services for Solarwinds Orion or can be performed without shut down of services.

2. Our current custom property fields for nodes has few critical devices alerted through the custom properties. If i import the complete sheet, are these devices affected?

We use Custom Properties too, and we created some now Custom Properties fields for alerting purposes too.

We added new Custom Properties without stopping or restaring any service.

As you create and assign new Custom Properties, you will see them immediately in the Custom Properties of each node.

Any node will be impacted by the change.

Once you have filled all the Custom Properties fields, you can start creating your alert rule according to the new Custom Properties.
