Hello, one of the admins where I work loaded SCCM on the same box as my WSUS &Eminentware servers. As a result my client machines & servers did not communicate with WSUS for 6 days, until the WSUS_Reporting_Level.exe tool was run. This restored reporting/communication betwween clients/servers and the WSUS box.
However when I click on software publishing\packages, I now gret an "access denied" error message. Below that I get:

Exception occured at 5/10/2011 10:54:17 PM: Access is denied
The type initializer for Microsoft.UpdateServices.Internal.UtiConstants' threw an exception
DataPortal_Fetch method call failed
DataPortal.Fetch failed
Has anyone seen this befor, or offer clues on how to resolve?

This was due to the ConfigMgr client being installed, which modified permissions on a particular registry key.
The solution was to go into the registry on the EminentWare server and modify permissions on this key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Update Services\Server\Setup
We gave the local group 'Users' READ access to that key, and Mark was once again able to browse down to Packages.
