Custom Poller Alerts

Hello,

I'm looking for help setting up the following email notification.

I've defined a custom pollers for a few HP server's disk and looking to trigger an email notification when the disk_conditon is not equal to 'ok'. I'm having trouble only displaying the specific disk with the issue.

I'm looking to be able only display the data in one row of the attached pic.

It cannot be done. If it actually can, then please someone correct me. I spent a long time looking in to this, and I got fed up of trying to figure out the correct syntax to get ${SQL: } lookups working within alert text.

An alert based upon a universal device poller - called P_Disk_Condition for you - can only alert if the alert criteria matches at least one row. It will only send one alert, even if all three of the disks in your attached pic have failed. The alert description has no way of linking the matched criteria to the related information in the same rows of the SNMP table.

Hence, all my HP hardware failure alerts only state that there is a possible failure and to look at the node's web page in Orion for further information. I normally use the word "Possible" in the text of alerts because, for example, an array controller will say it's "degraded" when it's actually just having a volume manually expanded. For disks, though, if it's alerting then it probably is actually dead.
