Monitoring wireless AP down status help

Hello all,

I was wanting to monitor the AP's connected to my Cisco wireless controller. I have the controller monitored via snmp however I don't see anything that I can add to the homepage to alert me of downed AP's. I do have an alart going to the events section of the homepage but I want a specific add-on that shows only all wireless AP's which are down sort of like my switches.

Any help with how I could do this?

To add a little more information:

If I go to the wireless tab it brings me to the Wireless summary view. Then on the left from the drop down menu you can go to group by and then I select status and then I click on down. If I could somehow only show this "downed" information in a box on the homepage that would be great so any advice would be nice.

We don't have a resource right now to do this out of the box. One thing you might try is to create a report writer report, then add a report writer resource to the web console and select this new report.

I think this would be a good added feature, or udp if someone could figure it out - we have over 100 AP's deployed with our controllers. I just took a quick glance at the SNMP mib on our Wism - there are alot of fields that show things like serial numbers, traffic counters and such for each ap - but I didnt see anything to show me the "name" associated to the ap (ie - BLD1_AP2) or a "status".

But - I just did a quick look. If I can find the time, Ill dive deeper in and see if I cant find something more.

Do you also have WCS? If so, until we can get it added to Orion, WCS will email you if a AP is in trouble. We get Rogue alerts, etc all the time.
