Using SFTP with a network location or drive mapped to a network location

I have the free version of Solar Winds SFTP. Set it up on a server with the default location for a directory to FTP files to it. However in order to work with other software we want this location to be on a network. Tried using a UNC Path and you get an exclamation mark and error notification. Tried mapping a drive to the same location and again - error.

So is there a way of setting up Solar Winds so that it can use a network location.

Map a drive from the server you are using the SFTP application on; the account you are using to SFTP must have permissions on the network share you want to use.

Once you have successfully mapped the drive from to the server, you should be able to configure the SFTP application to accept the network share as the path to dump all transactions.

Create the share, then configure the SFTP.

From what you have presented above, it sounds like a permission issue.

I've tried that - you are right in that I forgot that as the SFTP Application runs as a service it is running under a local account and not a network account. However even as I made sure I logged onto the server with access to the network account, even though the service is running under a network account - it still will not allow me to set the location to a mapped drive, or a UNC Path. It complains that it should be local and read/write - I know the account can read and write the directory as I logged in with that account.
