Why are my HP servers showing up as a Compaq in Vendor field?

well it's not a glitch just a lesson in history of companies merging
I had the same question when Alcatel switch said it's TiMetra
The box mib name will not change...

thought so but I had hoped that 15 years after the HP purchase the MIBs name would have been updated...
