Mixed Telnet / SSH enviroment

Hi there,

We are curently testing the Orion NCM in our environment to see if it can replace our Current Cisco Works installation.

I have made a scheulde task that download all the running and startup configs, from my test devices. Some of my devices is running telnet and some SSH.

Currently the NCM Client is configured globally to use SSH Auto, but the task fails on thoose devices that only support telnet?

Is there a way to configure NCM so it will first try SSH and then Telnet or the other way around?

As far as I know this is not possible. In fact I actually posted it as a feature request. The only way around it to set the default to what you have the most of and manually edit the others.

Either that or change the global one day, let it run then change it the next day to the other.

Our Cisco Works is cable of doing this so it will be a minus for Solarwinds side, and that is not good when we would like to change to Solarwinds

We are definitely tracking this as a feature request. I've heard this one a lot - so that will help move it up on the priority list.
