Approved for Removal - When the removal is successful?

Hello,

Accidentialy we approved an Microsoft update, which broke our Outlook Installation. After we recognized this we approved this update for removal.

Now this update occures every day for removal on all Computers. On some of them the update has been already removed, some didn't install it so there's no need for removal.

When these tries to uninstall/remove will/should end?

You may have to clear the SoftwareDistribution folder as a last resort for the computers that uninstall. Try to do that on some computers that keep doing the uninstall and let us know if that works for you.

There were no group with the update approved. At first the update has been approved to the clients group. After the occurrence of the negative effects the approval has been changed to "approved for removal". The WindowUpdate.log didn't show a planned reinstall of the mentioned patch but every time a planned removal (which shouldn't be applicable if uninstalled before).

After all clients seemed to have uninstalled the patch I removed the approval.

Go in and select the group you want to uninstall it from.  Then choose Update Management (not wizard) and choose the updates.  Click on "Add selected updates" to move them to the bottom pane.  Highlight the patches to remove and click on "Change Update Action" on the Actions Toolbar.  Change the option to "Uninstall."

Click "OK" when you're done.  It will remove them.  Just removed that pesky KB3114409 from my Office 2010 computers.
