Is there a way to automatically prevent Solarwinds from designating a type of device (e.g. printers) as a parent as part of Auto Dependency process, say with some type of rule or restriction. There is a manual process of ignoring dependency under "Manage Dependency" but we would like to set up some automated process/rule to prevent certain classes of devices based on custom property to prevent them from being designated as a parent. Failing that, maybe generate a query for lists of parent devices that have specific custom property. We had a curious case where Solarwinds marked a printer as the parent of a switch as part of Auto Dependency which resulted in missing the alert for the switch when the printer was down. Thanks.
