Our company has 70 facilities with a primary router and a secondary router with cellular connectivity. I created two custom properties (1) Primary_Router & (2) Secondary Router. The secondary routers are all the same model and all use the same interface name for the cellular tunnel (Tunnel 50). I have been able to sucessfully create an advanced alert for the secondary routers using the custom propert and the specific interface name. The primary routers are of three different models and have different quantites of T1's, serials, and multilink interfaces. I was unable to configure an advanced alert using the custom property of Primary_Router, so I chose to configure an advanced alert for each facility's Primary router. Under the Trigger Condition I've used the Node Name is equal to (router name), Interface full name is equal to (interface full name(s)), administrative status is equal to (UP), and Operational Status is equal to (Down). In the Trigger Action I've used $Fullname, $OperStauts in the Subject line. In the Message body I've used $AlertTriggerTime, $Fullname, $OperStatus, $InDisscardsthishour, $InErrorsthishour, $Outdisscardsthishour, $OutErrorsthishour, and a custom property containing site specific contact information. The problem starts at the moment I enable the alert. The alert generates several thousand emails for devices that were not defined in the Trigger Condition. Has anyone seen this type of problem? If so some help would be greatly appreciated.
