Server monitoring with Orion

Does anyone know if it is possible to pull the following information from a server through Orion?

% Disk Read Time, % Disk Write Time, % Disk Idle Time, Disk Queue Length, Disk Read Queue Length and Disk Write Queue Length

I am in the process of adding our first server to monitor to see just what all we can gather.

Unfortunately, that data isn't available via SNMP. If it were, we'd publish it. Those data are available as specific WMI performance counters, which NPM doesn't do today. That's not to say we won't add those server/harder-specific data to NPM in the future, but it's not there today. I mentioned APM rather than just saying that you're out of luck.

Yes, you can collect all of that with Orion APM.

I won't go into huge detail, but it bothers me intensely that hardware SNMP support on a server is pushed into a separately licensed "Application Performance Monitoring" product. That stuff is relatively standard SNMP support. I suppose custom pollers could be created to handle that data as long as you're allowing it to be published by the SNMP agent on the servers, but then, that's the point of buying software right.. I either have time or money, never both?

Ok .. Thanks .. I would say I will download the demo and give it a try but I need to get Orion on a new bigger server first. Maybe this will push that issue along a bit faster now.
