Alert on a Group of Nodes - Configuration

Question

I am trying to setup an alert on a group of nodes that will send an alert when the volume gets to 85% full.   I can setup the group but when I try to set the trigger condition it does not allow me to set volume just group.   What am I missing here?  Thanks!

Well, yes you can set up  an alert on a Group, but it will be on trigger conditions related to the group. Good luck!

Thanks!  Yeah I forgot about setting up custom properties for alerts and will do it that way.  I guess you can't really setup an alert on a group of nodes.

My guess is that you cannot access Volume data fields if you are configuring a Group alert. You should try using a Node custom property to flag the nodes that have the volume type that you want to alert on. Then, create a Volume alert (rather than a Group alert). You should be able to limit the Scope of the alert (on the Trigger Conditions tab) to Nodes that have the desired value of the custom property. You could also do it using a custom property for the Volume itself.
