Alerts working with NPM beta V7???

I'm running on the V7 beta version of Network Performance Monitor to fix a problem I had with V5. I tried to set up ALERTS to send an email on a "NODE DOWN" condition. The GUI window takes my SMTP address but does not save it when I click on "OK". Thus the ALERT does not work.

Am I missing something?

(The same thing happened with logging to a file.)
