How to monitor HSRP

Hello Everyone, today we have HSRP enabled in my routers, I mean I have two routers connected to B2B interface, where I have two physical IP´s for each router and one virtual IP.

We are monitoring these router through Loopback interface, so my question is when the primary connection goes down how can I check/know using NPM when the connection is running on the secondary router?

Is there some configuration ou feature to monitor HSRP os something like that?

You could use a custom poller to query the HSRP MIB and detect when it changes.

Alternatively, make sure that all your operational interfaces are up/up and that any unused interfaces are down/down.  Solarwinds automatically identifies devices that have interfaces in up/down state, so if you clean up the interfaces, when your primary link goes down, you'll see up/down and can investigate.  This would not detect a problem when the two routers are connected via a switch and a config mistake in the switch puts each router in a separate VLAN.
