Net Perf Mon v8.2 database maintenance
FormerMember
v 8.2 of the previous version (not Orion). The database gets large and a warning pops up saying the DB needs to have database maintenance run. You stop the Net Perf Mon app but then there is no provision for running the maintenance. If you try to run it through File-Database Maintenance-Compact and Repair within Net Perf Mon, it says the db is locked, try again when it's available. Running the nightly maintenance option doesn't prevent the warning from appearing each time you start Net Perf Mon.

Getting same problem.

Bring up Netperfmon and then bring up the database manager screen and then shutdown Netperfmon. The database maint screen stays, run compact/repair indexes.
Also if you get a full db frequently, you might want to decrease the time frame in which data is retained.
Hope that helps

I usually try everything that seems possible before posting on forums, this time I missed the obvious! The database maintenance utility is a standalone app that can be invoked from the subdirectory it lives in, duh. In my version, it's in the Engineer Edition subdir and is called Database-Maint.exe which solved the problem.
Turns out this old version can only handle about 2Gig in the db and they say that translates to approx. 500 interfaces. Well, 2 cisco 6500's with a hundred vlans each will just about max that out. The newer Orion is limited by the size of your disk space.
