SQL Server 2008 and EminentWare

Before installing the EminentWare server or doing a EminentWare Express install, verify that you have installed the following...

Make sure you install the

Microsoft SQL Server Native Client (note: this is the 2005 native client, not the 2008 client that comes with SQL Server 2008)

and

Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Management Objects Collection

Once these have been installed, you should be good to go.

The EminentWare Server uses these assemblies during installation and normal run time.

If you dont, you will recieve an error while trying to create the EminentWare DB and installation will fail.

There is a huge list of packages on the link you provided. Can you be more specific on which packages are required? I installed the two you mention but sill get an error stating that SQL 10.0 is not suported.

Did you get a resolution on SQL 2008? I'm about to set up our server and would like to avoid issues. We plan to install on Windows 2008 32-bit and wanted to go with SQL 2008 as well.

The issue reported in March appears to have been a complication with the installation of SQL Server itself. We were unable to reproduce the issue presented in that post. To the best of our knowledge, the only additions required to a SQL Server 2008 installation are the two listed in the first post of this thread, to wit:

Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Management Objects Collection
