Solar Winds' Aggressive Sales Tactics

Is anyone experiencing a flood of calls and emails from Solar Winds? I'm getting really turned off by the aggressive sales calls and emails. You can't download an eval or free tool without someone calling or emailing you that same day. Then you get a call and email the next day and the next and the next.

Yes, I'm getting a fair number of calls from our Sales person. SW has always been a bit of a pestering solution when it's time to renew contracts, or anytime a salesperson seems to have additional incentive to focus on my company's account.

Maybe they're commission based? Maybe they have to reach targets or be fired?

This practice doesn't serve me well; I'd prefer to just have one reminder a few months before the contract expires, and a second reminder a month or so before expiration, and a last one the week before support expires.

All we can do is accept it and put our patience hats on.

There are a number of ways clearly indicated by solarwinds to ensure that you don't have a million sales calls, especially when downloading tools . See: A Better Download and Sales Experience for our Customers . This was from 2013 and tends to be fully implemented at this point. Basically, if you need them to back off or feel they are not backing off, there are channels linked in that article to tell them. I don't think even for a second that the salespeople would have a problem if you told them to back off.

I am experiencing the opposite .. right now .... I had reached out to my sales rep for a few baseline quotes ... have not heard back... really strange ... as I have experienced what you all are ...

Best way is to get someone else to do the purchasing and you deal with the technical aspects of Solarwinds, who needs to worry about money when you have nodes to manage .
