IPSLA Operation Timeout

Hi!

We have manged to create a simple router to router icmp echo operation. However having foundout that the source node does not support the icmp echo operation, we have interchanged both routers. Thus the source node supports the said operation. However, the status message says: "Operation Time out" what could have been the cause of this issue?

what is your timeout threshold value for this echo operation? Have you tried to increase this number?

Haven't modify the timeout threshold value. We're using the default value. Would you know what is the recommended value for the timeout?

Hi,

standard timeout limit we use, when IPSLA Manager creates ICMP echo IPSLA operation, is 30 seconds which should be enough. Have you tried to run ping command directly from Cisco IOS console? Also it would be good to double check if you added ICMP traffic rule exception into your router access list (here is an example: access-list 101 permit icmp any any echo-reply).
