EventLog Monitor to trigger an External Process Alert

Event Log monitor is always green (as long as ipMonitor is able to connect to the remote system) and only generates email notifications when a particular regular expression is matched... Is there a way for Event Log Monitor to trigger an External Process Alert when a regular expression match is detected?

Conventionally, there is no way to do this.  As the External Process Action can only be triggered for failures/recoveries and the Event Log Monitor does not fail or recover.

Unconventionally, you could configure ipMonitor to log the Event Log match to a log file using the Text Log Action and then use the External Process Monitor to monitor modifications to the file using the following script:

If the file changes, the External Process Monitor fails and then the External Process Action can be triggered by it.  Like I said, it's a little unconventional but a solution nonetheless.
