Moving both Orion DB and NCM DB to a new server

Hi,

I would like to move all the databases (NPM and NCM) to another SQL 2005 Server. I have the instructions for moving Orion, but I wanted to know if the instructions for the NCM are the same, or are there any "gotyahs"?

It appears it's stop services, backup DB (Orion), restore to new server, run DB Wizard.

1. make a complete backup of the databases.

2. On the new server, create a new database (one for NPM called NetPerfMon and one for NCM, Dont know the actual name).

3. restore database and check the override existing database.

That is the best way to do it.

Let me know if you need more details.

I assume you still need to do the Database repair via the Wizard after the move. Do you need to "re-integrate" NCM to NPM?

I didnt run the repair after i moved mine and they are working fine. Yes, I would re-integrate NCM to NPM after.
