NetFlow - Interface Utilization Graph?

Hi,

In Orion NetFlow Analyzer is it possible to show a graphical representation of the interface utilization? There seems only to be a little table which shows the percentage utilization. I'd like to see a graph over a number of minutes/hours/days that shows how the utilization has changed.....

similar to MRTG if anyone knows how that looks...

So can this be done?

Interface utilization charts are part of Orion NPM. Because NTA is a module extension of Orion NPM, you can simply add NTA resources to the NPM interface details view. In this way you can easily troubleshoot network performance issues from a single interface regardless of whether they are bandwidth or non-bandwidth related issues.

Hi Chris,

Thanks, that helped. Is there a way to set the monitoring speed of an interface? For example we have alot of Fastethernet interfaces which connect to WAN services... The speed of these links ranges from 512Kb to 70Mb. Orion current monitors the interface a 100Mb so the graph is not really an accurate representaiton.

So can Orion be configured to monitor the interface at a different speed? Or do we need to put the 'bandwidth xxxx' command on the interfaces?

Yes, if you go the node / interface management screen in Admin, you can edit an interface and set a custom interface speed that will be respected when calculating utilization
