Postgres : Data source name not found and no default driver specified

Hello everybody,

I am trying to monitor postgres database.

I installed the driver on my SAM server . Here is the screen from program ==> administrative tools ==> Data Source (odbc)

My postgres server is a RHEL 6 64 bits.

I clicked the advanced options and chose x64 and launched the test but I still get the error message : Data source name not found and no default driver specified

Any idea ?

I would recommend using the 32bit ODBC Driver, as Orion's Job Engine is a by default a 32bit Process. You would need to make additional changes to the template to get it to work in a 64Bit process, and utilize the 64bit driver. One of those settings is shown below, but additional changes to the ODBC driver Connection String is likely also different for the 64bit ODBC driver.

In our case, the database connection required using SSL.

The default connection string was:

Driver={PostgreSQL Unicode};Server=${IP};Port=5432;DataBase=postgres;Uid=${USER};Pwd=${PASSWORD};

We changed it to:

Driver={PostgreSQL ANSI};Server=${IP};Port=5432;DataBase=<mydbname>;Uid=${USER};Pwd=${PASSWORD}; sslmode=require;

where <mydbname> is a placeholder for the name of our database instance.

I am having the same issue trying to connect to Postgre v11 using 64 bit ODBC.

If you've already changed the Application Template to use the 64bit worker process, then the issue is likely the ODBC connection string that needs to be modified. The templates have been created specifically to work with 32bit ODBC drivers.
