setting an alert for unmanaged devices

Hi there!

I'm trying to figure out how to configure an alert that lets me know if someone of the users with "manage nodes" privileges change a node to unmanaged status.

The trigger condition I used was:

Node status is equal to unmanaged

but the issue is that i'm only receiving the notification when this alert is cleared( when the device is remanaged), and I have both notifications configured.

Some ideas?

Do you have anything configured on the Alert Suppression tab?

Are you using an email for notification?

I don't have anything configured at the alert suppresion tab, but I have configured both the triggered and reset action (an email), and I'm only receiving the email for the reset action not for the triggered one.

It sounds like your trigger condition should be correct. Have you tried using the Test function for the alert to test the alert trigger? That is a good way to verify that the email configuration is working properly. If you receive the email from the test then I would recommend deleting the alert and creating a new one.

I've tried that advice of yours and the test works, but not de alarm itself, the reset condition is the only one working.

I add the image, I've tested the alert with "node status is equal to unmanaged" alone and with "node status has changed", but I've got the same result.

you shouldn't need the "Node Status has changed" and it should work like this, try to leave the reset condition as standard (Reset when conditions are no longer true).

If it does not and you havent changed anything in any of the other tabs, especially the alert suppression tab, I would open a support case...

the email server, authentification, etc. is set to the exact same thing in the trigger as well as the reset actions, correct?
