I started a VMAN appliance upgrade from ISO this AM and this is what I've been looking at for 4 hours:
I THINK I've been patient enough, but I'm looking for input.
What can I do from the appliance to see if the upgrade is actually doing anything?
Hi,
in https://VMAN_IP_addr:8450 you can go to "SolarWinds Mgmt -> View Recent Log Activity" menu and choose Log = h9maint.log. There are all info related to the upgrade.
You can also download bundled logs in "SolarWinds Mgmt -> Status" menu and press "Bundle Logs" button. After a while you can download a new GZ file.
If it's not clear from the logs what's going on then contact SolarWinds support and send them the bundled logs.
Also nothing wrong should happen if you stop the upgrade process and run it again.
Does it help?
I’m unable to access the configuration console, I get the page cannot be displayed.
I tried rebooting the appliance but that didn’t seem to help…
So try logging via SSH (admin / admin) and:
1) check if tomcat service is running
/etc/init.d/tomcat status
2) look at the h9maint.log
cat /var/hyper9/logs/h9maint.log
If I'm right you can't switch back to latest snapshot, can you?
Anyway, I'd suggest that you contact SolarWinds support.
Tomcat is running and I can even access VMAN website, but cannot access the appliance console.
Do you know where the configuration file is located?
