Maintaining and Patching SolarWinds servers

We have the following five SolarWinds servers, running on 2012R2 (with SQL 2014 for the SQL server:

SolarWinds Orion Core Server

SolarWinds SQL Server

SolarWinds Netflow Transaction Server

SolarWinds Web Performance Monitor Server

SolarWinds Firewall Services Manager

We'd like to patch these on a quarterly schedule. Is there a special order in which we should patch these and any services we should shut down while patching?

There is a great tool called SolarWinds Product Upgrade Advisor -

The information about the tool is on the link below. There are a couple of links on that page that will also be helpful. There is an order in which you need to update.

This information should point you in the right direction. SW has continued to make the upgrades easier - once you establish a task list - you should be good to go on a regular cycle.
