"Up" alerts with no "Down" alerts and no changes to alert config

A few days ago I received an Alert for every monitored Device indicating it was "Up".

No "Down" alerts were generated prior to this. No configuration changes were made.

As much as I was happy to know all my stuff was up and running, I didn't really feel the 90 something e-mails I recieved were very worthwhile..

Any thoughts on the cause of this?

I have seen this happen when the NMS looses connectivity to the network for a short time. Check your trigger conditions and see if there is a delay on the down trigger. That can cause it. See this thread
