NPM 10.2.1 Alert Suppression

Hi,

We have defined an alert that trigger on volume space used > 80% and custom properties equal to a specific value.

and the alert suppression

When the alert suppression condition is active we do not see any alert even when the conditions are still true.

When we delete the alert suppression we see the alert for the specific department and the volume with percent used > 80%

Is this a normal or at least known behaviour ?

This is normal behavior. When the Conditions in the Alert Suppression are met, the Alert will not longer become active. Please see this Document for understanding Alerting and Suppression. Orion Advanced Alerts

I'm OK if condition are met the alert is suppressed but in my case, the alert suppression are not met AND we do not receive any alert. I mean that i still have a volume with space used greater than 80% and with alert suppression defined i do not have the alert.

The Alert Suppression Tab is a global query (pretty much, never use it). This example suppresses all alerts as long as any Volume in department "xxx" is less than 80%.

What out come are you trying to accomplish with the suppression that the trigger condition doesn't already do?
