I just setup a trial version of the Kiwi Syslog Server for some testing & evaluation and have two questions thus far...

Is there a way to setup different user accounts in the Web Access? This is important for compliance.
Does the Kiwi Syslog Server product come with a log viewer other than the Web Access?

Hi byrona,

On 1) No, not yet. But this is a feature request we've had for a while now and are looking to add support for this in a forthcoming version.

On 2) No. The Kiwi Syslog Web Access console is the only tool that can be used to view data logged via the "Log to Web Access" action. Kiwi Log Viewer can however, be used to view any log file created by Kiwi Syslog Server via the "Log to file" action.

The only followup question I have is:

Is the Kiwi Log Viewer an additional application that has to be purchased? I have seen it noted as Freeware but have also seen a cost associated with it?

So, with regard to the Kiwi Log Viewer, it looks like there is a free version as well as a more fully featured paid for option?

It seems like Log Viewer capabilities should by default come with the Syslog Server as that is one of the essential components of a Syslog Server. I realize that it has the Web Access but that is limited by the 4gb limitation on SQL Compact.

Does the Kiwi Syslog Server have any other Log View capabilities that I have missed?

Can anyone tell me if multiple user access via the Web Console is available yet. I have version 9.1 installed. If not can anyone tell me the road map of this feature if any. Thanks.

No, this is not available in 9.1, however, this is something we want to look to enhance in the future

Surely the engineering team would have an idea as to when this feature may be available as there are loads of requests for this enhancement to come in the next version. Its a big item when trying to be compliant and yet if you give people access using a Shared ID then you become non-compliant. This should be a big selling point for Kiwi Syslog server if they were to get this feature in.
