You can use your cell phone operators email to SMS gateway by sending alerts to your cell phones email address. E.G. for AT&T wireless that would look something like 9785551212@txt.att.net, obviously replacing the phone number with your own. For a complete list of cellular providers email gateway address formats see The Complete List Of Text Messaging Email Addresses | EmailTextMessages.com

Another option is to run your own SMS gateway. This normally used for notifications when/if the email server is down or you've lost all internet connectivity. Orion has direct integration with PageGate and NotePager Pro for exactly that reason.
