Kiwi Notifications

Is there anyway Kiwi syslog can be setup to monitor certain changes in the network like OSPF Neighbor state changes and send out an alert right away? Is there another product that can do this if Kiwi Syslog can't do it.

Hi Mystic,

If your OSPF network has been configured to send SNMP traps, then Kiwi Syslog Server can receive them.

The current version of the Kiwi Syslog Server MIB database includes definitions for the following OSPF MIBS:

OSPF-MIB
OSPF-PRIVATE-MIB
OSPF-TRAP-MIB
OSPFV3-MIB
OSPFV3-MIB-JUNIPER

Thanks for the answer. One other question. If for some reason an OSPF Alert gets triggerd can an email be sent to me telling me what the alert was?

You would use the E-mail action in Kiwi Syslog Server to achieve this, eg:

Rule "OSPF"
Filter
+-Input Source="SNMP"
+-...
Action
+-Email message: %MsgText
