How exactly do I setup an alert to notify me when our webpage doesn't load correctly?

I know from web searches and reading in the SAM Admin guide that HTTP Monitor is what I need but so far I haven't found how to actually set it up, as in a step-by-step guide.  I've found plenty of info on what it is and field descriptions, but no example of how to actually get it working.  Our company webpage was down all weekend recently and nobody knew until Monday morning.  The problem was a simple coding error that kept pages from loading.  I need to set an monitor and alert to notify me, preferably with a text message, if something like this happens again.

All you should need to do is monitor the web site using something like SAM's HTTP or HTTPS User Experience Monitors. Then the out-of-the-box alert "Alert me when a component goes down" should trigger when/if the website is down. Simply configure an appropriate trigger action to notify you and you're done.
