Patch Manager upgrade path.

Does anyone know if we can do a direct upgrade from version 1.71 to 1.73? Installing 1.73 on top on 1.71? Thanks.

Hi, John.

The 1.73 installer is a full-product installer, so you can technically use it to upgrade any version of Patch Manager/EminentWare Extension Pack. However, we have only tested the upgrade for version v1.71.210.1 and higher.

Ok, Thanks. We have version 1.71.210.1. Should we use the full installer installer to upgrade or the upgrade version? The download for the full version is about 400MB and the upgrade is 58MB.

You can use the upgrade, but I just checked with Product Management, and Lawrence recommended upgrading to 1.72 first to get over the licensing hurdle before upgrading to 1.73. This step is not necessary, but it'll help distribute the tasks related to getting you up to date. That is:

Upgrade to 1.72 and apply the new license to your PAS.
Upgrade to 1.73 and redistribute your certificates if you didn't do so after applying the recent WSUS patch.
