I was looking at studying for the SCP and Microsoft's SCCM/SCOM qualifications. I want to mainly do this because (A) I quite enjoy, when it works the organisation and the order that monitoring brings, and (B) I am pretty sure I can earn a considerable amount of money doing this either via contract, or via a company.
So I want to know:
- Would the study material on the solarwinds site covers 99% of all exam questions that I could be asked? Or would a book also benefit to cover the bits that the videos don't cover. The plan is to simply listen to the videos during work time and then some more revision over the evening as background noise.
- On average, how lone did it take people from start to finish to become SPC certified? A year, six months? I understand that people operate different to each other - Eg - someone might understand concepts faster than me, or they might be younger, or already have experience.
- I know some things on solarwinds, but not all the refined details that makes soalrwinds up. So I wouldn't call myself an amateur, but I am not an advanced user either. Call me mediocre.
Information would be appreciated.
