ERROR: Cannot download Running config : Connection Refused by [IP]

I've been seeing a bunch of these lately on my nightly downloads from v5. What is wierd, if I manually do it it works fine. I've dropped my concurrent connections from 40 to 15 and there are less, it seems like a band aid though. I'd like to rip through 1000 devices in about 5min...

I used to get the connection refused error all the time, then somebody on here suggested reducing the number of simultaneous connections in NCM. I hardly ever see the error anymore; I have around 180 devices, almost all of which use SSH and/or SCP.

Are you using SSH, telnet, or a mixture of the two? This error is a very generic error and I wish that NCM would have better error notification, but I see this a lot on SSH devices. I've worked extensively with the NCM project manager and it's gotten better for me in v5, but still occurs. I believe that it might also have something to do with server load, but that's just speculation at this point.

We've upgraded to the latest versions of the our SSH/Telnet control in 5.1. We're hopeful this newer control eliminates most if not all of these types of errors.

I believe I've sent both of you have copies of the 5.1 beta. If you get a chance to test it, please let us know if this has had any positive impact.

Slight issue with 5.1 Beta - I can't get it installed properly, something with the error message (screen). I'm using the SA for the login, creating a new DB and SQL NCM login.

I am having the same issue, and it is occurring in Network Configuration Manager (NCM) 5.5.1. I have 68 devices, of those 68 devices 4 have SSH, of those 4, 2 fail doing the Scheduled weekly backup. When I manually run the backup on those 2 devices it works.

how about i have only 1 device, a w2k3 and i'm using ncm 5.2.2 . The error connection refused happens all the time. How can I fix it now ?
