It seems we need to restart the manager service on our LEM pretty much daily. Is there a way to set up a kron job or something that can do that for us automagically?
Restarting is not something that is normally needed. Typically it has to do with reservations or something else that is happening. I would highly suggest you open up a support case to help find the actual cause. Also make sure you are on the latest version as well.
Ditto was Wolram has said. Manager service should not be restarted so often, it could eventually lead to further issues in the background.
do you have enough free memory? Go to cmc > manager > type in the viewsysinfo command and check, allocated memory and free memory. -> make sure you have correct reservations set. This is very important.
=> would recommend reaching out to the support for this one.
I put in the viewsysinfo command but not see anything about free memory or allocated memory. Just saw how much memory the appliance had installed.. Maybe I'm not looking in the correct location?
Thanks for the input everyone! Just doubled my mem and CPUs so we'll see how it goes.
Make sure your reservations and assignments match, or LEM will be very unhappy when something else balloons and steals its memory!
Yes, how does one do that? I think I am running into issues on it now...
What is the hypervisor that you're running? VMWare or HyperV?
