When we un-manage the host, solar winds still need to collect the metrics in the background , as we want the historic data like CPU, Memory, Disk and network utilization collected during that time period.
From my experience with the software, this is not by design. Unmanaging pauses all data collection. As a work around here, we've added a custom property called Maintenance that has a yes/no option. We also have a criterion in all alerts for Node Maintenance is equal to no. As such, anytime we need to keep from alerting on a system or systems for any reason, we change that value to True/yes to essentially mute alerting without disabling alerting, while allowing for status and statistic collection during that time.
