How can I view or report on old syslog data?

My syslog server archives the data into text files. How do I create reports from or view that data without using a text editor? Can I open the archived syslog data using the Syslog Web Access?

You can use Web Access to search and filter the events you see. I believe it is still space limited to 4GB based on the database engine used. The best way would be to store the logs in a database or something like ElasticSearch.

you can also try our new beta of NPM that has a new engine for full-text search on Syslogs and it can also search syslogs per nodes. NPM unified and syslog search preview feedback welcomed.

I use our Log Viewer tool to sort through logs. Please see this link:
