Assigning nodes to template duplication error.

I have two questions/suggestions about assigning nodes to templates.

1. It is possible to browse only through unassigned nodes when adding a node to a template? This is a big deal when doing application monitoring that is a large, or even global scale. I have a little over 700 servers and while I only have a few global type templates assigning a template to those nodes quickly is not that easy. I also have found when I added them all at once I had errors and had to remove them and do smaller groups 30 - 40 at a time. This led to the second issue.

2. When I add a node to a template I get the complete browse list. If I check off the same server (Duplicate) the second time I go through the list it adds it as a second application monitor instead of either ignoring the duplicate assignment or telling me there is a duplicate assignment. I think this is a bug but not sure. Going back to point one it would be nice if it filtered based on nodes that were already assigned to that template.

When you assign a template to a node, we don't have a filter to show only those that are unassigned. That's a good feature request.

I would like to request that this feature be added. I have 87 nodes, and only 85 are assigned. It is an extreme pain in the rear to try to figure out which two haven't been assigned. I can only imagine how hard it is for users with hundreds of servers...

Hello,
you can assign template to those two nodes quite easily. Just Go to Admin->APM Settings->Manage Application Monitor Templates. Select desired template and click "Assign to Node" button. In the next step select all nodes and click "Next" button. There, just above "Back", "Assign Application Monitors" and "Cancel" buttons you will see select labeled "Do you want to assign duplicates?". If you select "No, Skip Duplicates" and click "Assign Application Monitors", template will be assigned only to nodes that don't have it yet and those are your two missing nodes.
