Custom Properties for Interfaces

We are new to SolarWinds, but have loved the flexibility of the toolset. We've already been using the Customer Properties for Devices to query for our regions, but we were trying to put in a custom property to the interfaces so that we could query the customers on our router interfaces throughout the network. I went through the steps, but I cannot find where we can query by interfaces on the web site. Am I missing a step here?

You need to add the Custom properties you created to Report Writer by doing this every time you upgrade or install Orion;
