I received the marketing email from SW about: Drag & Drop Network Monitoring Dashboards

I know this might seem pedantic, but the dashboards in SW are not drag and drop by any means. It makes it sound like you can open up a dashboard, and drag items on an off as required. While this feature has been recommended it seems a bit preemptive to call the current functionality drag and drop.

The only thing which is drag and drop is the menu bar creation.

I would expect that true drag and drop allows any user(given rights) to from the dashboard screen drag elements onto and off the screen as required, create personal modifications, minimise elements etc. This could all be controlled by the admin who decides which elements the users are allowed to drag onto/off the screen and potentially have some mandatory elements which the user cannot change.

Hi Miron,

You are right.  We inadvertently sent out this e-mail before having the right technical folks proof it.  The general intent of the e-mail was that the Orion dashboards are flexible and customizable, but they are not drag & drop as the e-mail indicates.

Rather than claim Antennae-gate (I couldn’t resist), we’re hoping our sincere apology and acknowledgement that we let this one slip past us will suffice.  In the future, our e-mails will go through a tighter review process to prevent these types of mistakes.
