We've been running Syslog, along with Harvester (Server 2003) for several years... no problems.
We recently upgraded to 2008 R2 (virtualized) and Harvester is no longer able to communicate with the COM port.
We are using the LavaLink Serial (Serial to Ethernet) as COM3 (4800,n,8,1) and all works just fine under Win 2003 as mentioned.
Same install (same versions, etc.) under 2008 gives this error each time data appears on the serial port:
2012/03/07 13:14:03 *** Harvester 1.4 Startup commport:3 commini:4800,N,8,1 flowcontrol:1 udptarget:localhost udpport:514 OriginalAddress: KiwiHarvesterID:Harvester
2012/03/07 13:14:03 frmHarvester:tmrComm err#:8020:Error reading comm device
We've confirmed that the serial port/information is working fine using Putty, HyperTerm and a few other Serial diagnostic tools.... however Harvester simply gives this error.
Suggestions ?
