Monitor multiple interfaces

Hi,

I am looking to build a new dashboard for our Service desk that shows the status of a particular Interface/VLAN that is across 60+ sites.

We currently monitor each site individually and can check interfaces via that, but I am wanting to have a specific page for each Interface, that gives a summary of all sites to display on wall boards in the Service desk office.

Any advice is welcomed!

i think best option would be to create a view and keep all ur details there.

Creat a noc view in managementa view. select custom html for to place the tracking link for each site.

What you could do, is create a new group, and add the interfaces that are on the VLAN in question to that group. If you use the 'worst status' in the advanced options of the group, if one of the interfaces goes down, the group's pip will change colour to RED, showing your service desk at a glance that there is a problem.

To make this easier to do, I would create a new custom property for interfaces, and assign it to the interfaces in question. You can then create the group using a dynamic query, which will add in all interfaces where this new custom property is populated.That way, whenever you add a new interface in to that VLAN, you can be sure that as long as you change the custom property correctly, it will always be added to the group, thereby reducing administrative time taken.

An easy way of doing this is to use a common word in all the interfaces's description you're interested in (such as office link). Then you use the built in view say "Percent Utilization of All Interfaces". Then Edit this view and add in something like

interfacealias like '%office link%'

And change the Title and you're done And any new sites you add in, just make sure the interface has the words office link in the description and it will just appear in the view.
