We have come to a need for an enhancement of IPSLA that I was wondering if it could be done now or if not be added.
We have offices with duel MPLS carriers, say carrier A and B. Carrier A is always preferred. So if I want to do a IPSLA test from Carrier B's router to our Carrier B router in our datacenter using today's method of the management IP of the box the path will be :
B mgmt IP -> A's router -> A's MPLS network -> A's head end router -> B's head end router's mgmt IP.
So if there is an issue on A's network both A and B tests are bad.
If we could use other IPs for the tests I can get around this. If I ping across B's WAN IP to B's head-end WAN IP that will not traverse WAN A and it's a valid test.
Does that all make sense??
