We have a system that has quite a few processes that when a users crashes a session any one of them can have high cpu. Can APM show the top ten processes on a node or would we have to monitor each specific process to report against?

That is currently not supported in APM.
You need to setup individual process monitors for each process you would like to watch.
definitely something we have been looking for as well...
unfortunately even with ALX you cannot cover every possible process...
it would be real nice to see which processes used how much memory and cpu over the past but I guess thats really hard to implement
I'm shocked that this feature isn't available in NPM 10.4 SAM application/process monitoring is not an option. Process lists by Node is more relevant from a server administrator perspective.
Viewing and alerting on the top 10 processes was a feature included in SAM 5.0 through the Real-Time Process Explorer. You can learn more about this feature in the blog posts and video below.
